Installation Of A New Traffic Light At Woodfield Road And Linden Street Has Begun

Following recent car accidents at and around Woodfield Road, local officials and clergy held a press conference at the corner of Woodfield Road and Linden Street to announce that the installation of a new traffic light at that intersection has begun. Participants included Legislator John Giuffre, Legislator William Gaylor and Rabbi Elon Soniker of Congregation Anshei Shalom. The press conference, which was also covered by Channel 2 and News 12 Long Island took place on the lawn and sidewalk of long-time resident William Jacobs.

According to Legislator Gaylor, “The [concrete] foundations for lights will be poured and once cured in about three weeks, installation of a signal will begin.”  Both Gaylor and Giuffre thanked Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman for his concern and role in expediting the process.

Rabbi Soniker added, “For us to be able to walk safely, to know that our children are able to walk the community safely with safe places to cross, puts all of us as parents and community members at ease.”
