This past Saturday, an 83-year-old woman was fatally struck and killed while crossing Hempstead Turnpike according to Nassau police.
Clytee Felder-Knight of Hempstead was crossing Nassau Boulevard when she was struck by a 2016 Dodge Ram driven by a 36-year-old man who turned left onto Nassau Boulevard around 3:26 p.m., police said in a news release. She was pronounced dead Saturday night after being taken to a hospital, according to police.
The driver was not injured and remained on the scene, police said. The investigation is ongoing.
