West Hempstead Library kicks off summer reading program

The West Hempstead Public Library kicked off its summer reading program, which includes a fun past time called letterboxing.

According to the library’s website, letterboxing involves puzzle solving, treasure hunting, and posting clues throughout the neighborhood.

The library will select several location volunteers to set up a letterbox that patrons can open and interact with. The only thing needed is a small space where the box can be set up.

The library wants to get the community involved and get more people to visit local businesses over the summer.
