Diamond Charter School lawsuit: NYSUT is suing to block the charter school’s temporary move to 12 Westminster Road in West Hempstead. The school is scheduled to open in September. Court hearing is set for August 11.
The poop-bag problem: Another heated social-media discussion about residents putting dog-waste bags into household garbage cans. And now, apparently, a group of local kids is offering garbage-can cleaning as a business.

Nassau County contracts: Nassau awarded $730,000 in new contracts to a firm connected to Howard Fensterman, a campaign finance chair for County Executive Bruce Blakeman.
