Months after the Echo Park Pool facility closed for renovations, West Hempstead Echo has finally heard some positive news on the reopening of the outdoor pool.
According to a representative from the Town of Hempstead Park Commissioner’s office, the parts for the pool filtration system are coming in shortly and if all goes according to schedule, the pool can reopen as early as the start of August. Workers were already seen on Friday (7/14) preparing and cleaning the outdoor kids’ pool.
In addition, the spokesperson noted that the indoor pool roof has been repaired, but no timetable has been given for the indoor pool to open.
The facility closed last December for what officials called Phase 1 Construction of the Indoor Pool. No reopening target date was set.
In 2018, the facility underwent a $218,000 renovation after a closure of about three weeks. More as this story develops.
