Stop & Shop announced on Friday that it will be closing 32 underperforming stores in five states, including four on Long Island.
The four Long Island stores slated to close on in by November 2nd include 130 Wheatley Plaza in Greenvale, 294 Middle Country Road in Coram, 132 Fulton Ave. in Hempstead, and 2525 Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow. Stop & Shop workers affected by the closures will be offered other jobs within the company, officials said.
The 132 Fulton Ave store, which has been a fixture in the community, is located between Fulton Ave. and Hempstead Turnpike. There are no reports of any changes affecting the Stop & Shop Cherry Valley location.
