County Legislator Candidate Jake Scheiner held a press conference today in front of The Echo Park pool renovation sign, demanding action from Town of Hempstead officials regarding the extended delays and poor communications regarding the closing of the pool since December, including what appears to be the entire summer season.
Scheiner, the Democratic nominee for the Nassau County Legislature’s District 14 seat running against Bill Gaylor III, further demanded that local officials provide a timeline for the pool to reopen and arrange for Echo Pool patrons’ access to alternative pools in other nearby communities, such as Rath Park Pool in Franklin Square.
The Echo Park homepage via the Town of Hempstead does not even mention the pool closing, let alone a timeline for reopening.
