The Central Nassau County Rotary and Foundation honored two life-long residents and pillars of the West Hempstead community, Helen Duryea and Riesterer’s Bakery icon Karl Riesterer Sr. The dinner was held last evening at the Plattduetsche Park Restaurant in Franklin Square to help raise money to feed the hungry and help the needy. Both Helen and Karl have enjoyed successful professional careers in the community and continue to contribute their time and efforts to help the community and society at large.
