Despite the inclement weather, Sanitary District 6 ran a successful event on Sunday offering West Hempstead residents the opportunity to shred documents, recycle electronics and safely dispose of unwanted and expired medications.
A full complement of District 6 employees were on hand to assist residents with their materials, allowing customers to remain in their cars while the staff retrieved boxes and electronics and sorted them as needed.
