A water main break near Madison Avenue and Collins Lane Tuesday caused some water outages and incidents of brown water in the area.
Residents took to Facebook to report the problems with some saying their water service had been restored.
The West Hempstead Water District posted a message on its page saying crews were working on the water main break. Water district officials say anyone who is experiencing water discoloration should run cold water in a tub or sink to clear up the issue.
Water service has been restored to the residents living in the Presidential Section.
