New Synagogue opens on Hempstead Avenue

House of Torah West Hempstead Yesmach israel, a new Sephardic synagogue announced on the West Hempstead Jewish Community Facebook group that they are opening at 416 Hempstead Avenue. The synagogue is located in the former Bais Torah U’Tefillah (BTU) synagogue who moved their facilities across the street last year to the closed Pompei Restaurant and Catering Hall. The congregation will be led by Rabbi Avichai Bensoussan. 

House of Torah will help serve the needs of the growing Sephardic community which already holds services at Congregation Anshei Shalom which is located a block away.
